- Day 5 -

Ocean Park

Following our visit to Disneyland, there is an academic need for us to explore Hong Kong's own theme park built for the locals, Ocean Park. We needed to compare the local cultures, and how it has been influenced by foreign influence. Would it be a replica of Disneyland?

Anyway, I've found that the simplest way to avoid disappointment is not to have expectations. Like Disneyland, by not comparing it to other places made the place more enjoyable for me. I've learnt to try to appreciate things as they are. Life seems a lot nicer this way. Haha...

I've been to Ocean Park!

Hong Kong Display of Lights

Every night at 8pm, there would be a display of lights from the row of buildings along Hong Kong Island. From the harbourfront on Kowloon mainland, we can see the lights of the buildings flash on and off, change colours to form patterns, while laser beams further enhanced the bright and glowing atmosphere. It was quite nice.. but the practical critic in me kept nudging me with the thought: "What a waste of electricity!".
